OUR HISTORY

Beattie Animal Hospital come a long way since 1952 when founded by the late Dr.R.A.Beattie.The original building was about a 1000 sq feet house and hospital was in it.Several renovations and expansions were done over the years to accomodate the changing needs of our patients and clients. Recent additions and renovations  were made in 2009-2010 to Beattie Animal Hospital.

The hospital is aimed primarily at small animals (dogs and cats), however we also provide very basic care for some exotic animals and birds. The hospital is divided into 4 main areas:

a) Pet Hospital: Providing medical and surgical services to pets.Services include wellness exams and consultation for pets, vaccinations, critical care, sick pet care etc. We have separate exam rooms for cats and dogs, in-house laboratory, ICU unit and isolation area for very sick. We have separate cat and dog hospital wards for sick pets. Separate dog and cat surgery recovery areas, Digital X-ray (radiography), dental radiography and special procedure room to do Ultrasound procedures, Double surgical suite with Laser equipment and a spacious treatment area. These areas all flow together to provide efficient care possible!

b) Pet Boarding: Separate Dog and Cat Boarding

d) Pet  Store: Puppy, Adult and Senior pet diets. Prescriptions diets, Pet products and    Supplies

The Veterinary Hospitals in Ontario go through rigorous inspections by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario every five years to meet the standards of care. We have gone through the process and have been accredited by them for the next five years.

Accreditation: The licensing body for veterinarians in our province conducts regular on-site inspections of our premises. This process is designed to protect you and your pets. It ensures that our facilities meet specific standards set out by our profession including equipment requirements, proper patient record keeping, safe drug storage, medical reference library and orderly and sanitary premises. Meeting these standards can require significant investments in time and money.
