Our animal hospital provides pet care for cats and dogs in the Brantford, Hamilton, Ancaster, and Cambridge areas. Beattie Animal Hospital veterinarians have been in business for more than 50 years, with a full vet staff including vet technicians, assistants, reception team, pet food store employees and boarding and grooming professionals.
Beattie Animal Hospital veterinarians provide services for dogs and cats from infancy to the golden years through scheduled visits and emergency situations. Services at our animal veterinary clinic include innoculations and wellness care, surgery and anesthesia, senior pet evaluations as well as boarding and day care for pets.
At Beattie, we have pet groomers who are available for appointments to have your dog or cat’s nails trimmed when necessary or if they need to be bathed and brushed. Pet grooming is part of an animal’s routine care. Grooming can also be scheduled during a pet’s overnight stay at our animal hospital.
For dog owners who are out of town on vacation or unable to be home during the day, our Beattie animal veterinary center offers dog boarding with separate spaces with heated and air-conditioned quarters. It is recommended to call ahead of time to ensure that a space will be available for your dog.
Our Brantford facility can show you how you can combat gum disease at home as well as treat advanced cases of tooth and gum decay. By age three, the majority of cats and dogs have some kind of gum disease, according to the American Veterinary Dental Society. In fact, this is the number one health issue with cats and dogs. Left untreated, gum disease can spread bacteria throughout the pet’s system and even cause organ failure.
In addition to the pet health and preventative services offered, Beattie Animal Hospital is an animal veterinary clinic with health and diagnostic services as well as an intensive care unit.
Our on-staff surgeons perform daily surgeries on dogs and cats from spays and neuters to more complicated procedures. We use laser technologies to treat your pet. If you are faced with an emergency, such as an accident or a poison ingestion and you feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, please call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular situation.
Beattie Animal Hospital has been in business since 1952 and provides vet service for the Brantford, Hamilton, Ancaster and Cambridge areas. We also provide a retail department and Pet E-Store which offers pet food and pet supplies for take-home products for your cat or dog.

The licensing body for veterinarians in our province conducts regular on-site inspections of our premises. This process is designed to protect you and your pets. It ensures that our facilities meet specific standards set out by our profession including equipment requirements, proper patient record keeping, safe drug storage, medical reference library and orderly and sanitary premises. Meeting these standards can require significant investments in time and money. Apart from the province’s accreditation, Beattie Animal Hospital is an AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited hospital. Today, only 12%–15% of veterinary practices in the US and Canada hold the “AAHA-accredited” designation.
